How an agentic system works

The parallel checks pattern runs independent checks on the same case at the same time and merges their results into one file.

When it is the right shape

When the checks do not depend on each other: transaction history, device history, sanctions screening, and prior alerts can all be read at once. Running them side by side shortens the wait without adding judgment, and each check keeps its own sources and its own record.

What it needs

A merge step with written rules for conflicts, and a clear owner for the merged file. Parallel checks gather evidence; they do not decide. In the fraud alert investigation use case the checks run in parallel, and an analyst decides every alert outside the known false patterns the bank's written policy lists.
