The check and revise pattern has one step write a draft and a second step check it against sources and rules, sending it back with the failures named until it passes or a round limit stops it.
When it is the right shape
When a draft has to be traceable: every figure tied to its source, every citation pointing at the right article, every change mapped to the rule it comes from. The checker is often code, a rule check or a source match, rather than a second model.
What happens when it does not pass
The round limit is a stop condition. When the draft still fails after the last round, it goes to a person marked with what did not pass, rather than looping on. The regulation to policy use case uses it to turn a new regulation into a cited list of policy changes for compliance to review.
